Sarah Fuller has been on Vanderbilt’s football team for less than a week and she’s already trying to make an impact in the locker room.
On Saturday, Fuller became the first woman to play in a college football game for a power five school after the team’s special team’s unit had to sit out due to Covid-19 protocols.

Fuller wasn’t satisfied with just being on the team and chose to speak to her teammates at halftime. According to ESPN’s Courtney Cronin, Fuller called out her teammates for not supporting each other on the sidelines during the first half of the game.

On Sunday, Fuller said she spoke with special teams coordinator Devin Fitzsimmons about staying with the team and he was on board with it.

“I talked with Fitz during the game actually, … and he was like, ‘We’d love to have you stick around,'” Fuller said. “I would love to continue learning and refine my kicks and everything. This morning, I plan on going to the meetings and learning. I asked for some film on some NFL kickers that are comparable to how I kick so I can refine that.
“I’ll stay around as long as they want me, until they kick me off. I’m here for the long run.
