France’s Victor Wembanyama was heartbroken after the team’s loss to Team USA.
Ahead of the big game, Wembanyama spoke about how important it was for him to win gold for his country.
“In our national anthem, we talk about blood, too. We’re willing to spill blood on the court,” Wembanyama said.
“If it allows us to win gold, I’m all for it. Take all of it. I mean, maybe half of it.”
On Saturday, France played an extremely competitive game against the heavily favored Team USA basketball team.
Unfortunately for Wembanyama and France, Steph Curry caught fire at the end of the game and hit several clutch three-pointers to win the game.

After the game, an emotional Wembanyama was seen crying on his way to the bench.
