As anyone who watched the women’s NCAA basketball tournament now knows, there is almost nothing that Iowa Hawkeyes’ point guard Caitlin Clark can’t do on a basketball court.
It’s why the 21-year-old junior has swept almost every possible top award in women’s college basketball this year. Big Ten Player of the Year? Check, check. John R. Wooden Award and AP Player of the Year? Double check. Naismith College Player of the Year and USBWA National Player of the Year? Checkeroni. Dawn Staley Award? Yep. Nancy Lieberman Award? You betcha. The Wade Trophy? Checkeroo.
On top of all that, Caitlin Clark is heavily involved in giving back to the community and is an incredible spokesperson for the sport of women’s basketball.
Oh yeah, she’s also really dang good at golf, because of course she is.
With all the attention she is now receiving thanks to her impressive NCAA tournament run, a segment which aired on the Big Ten Network over the winter is now going viral.
In it, fans get to see that Caitlin Clark’s golf swing is almost as buttery as her three-point shot.
“I grew up in Des Moines and I played there a ton and honestly, I try to get back there as much as I can to play with my family,” Clark revealed in the video. “My dad plays a lot. My older brother plays a lot so, you know, it’s super fun.
“I remember getting my first set of golf clubs for one of my birthdays when I was really young,” she continued. “My dad got it for me. It was an all pink bag, all pink clubs and my dad would always take me when we were younger.
“I started playing golf when I was like, third or fourth grade. I mean, I was terrible. I couldn’t hit it off the ground, but I loved doing anything that was competitive. Even though I was bad, I just kept really working hard at it.”
Shocker… Caitlin Clark kept really working at being good at something.
