The Minnesota Vikings may be cutting Pro-Bowl running back Dalvin Cook just in time for the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Vikings are keeping all options open and may consider releasing Cook if negotiations do not work out.
Fowler revealed this news during a segment on SportsCenter over the weekend, stating that the Vikings had even talked to one team about a potential trade for Cook in the past. However, nothing came of the discussions, and now the Vikings may be forced to make a tough decision.

Cook, who is still only 27 years old, signed a massive 5-year, $63 million deal in 2020. He has been a key player for the Vikings, racking up an impressive 6,423 total yards and scoring 46 touchdowns over the past four seasons. However, his cap hit appears to be a major concern for the team.
Despite the potential financial issues, Cook has reportedly caught the attention of other NFL teams. The Miami Dolphins, for instance, have reportedly spoken with the Vikings about a possible trade for Cook back in March. However, nothing came of these talks, and Cook remains with the Vikings for now.
Lot of Cook chatter today. As we reported weeks ago, Dolphins & Vikings discussed a trade. Never materialized. Dolphins appreciate how good he is. Vikings could move on, for $ reasons, this offseason or next. ESPN's @JFowlerESPN says "all options" are on table & he could be cut. https://t.co/8MtXnKaPVt

While it’s unclear what the future holds for the talented running back, it’s clear that his status with the team is uncertain at best. As the draft draws closer, all eyes will be on the Vikings and their decision regarding Cook.
