If you’re looking for answers on whether or not to invest in Bitcoin and basing your decision on Elon Musk, you probably won’t be plopping down any money for cryptocurrency anytime soon. This week, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO revealed how much Bitcoin he owns and it’s not a lot at all.
There have been many fake Twitter accounts pretending to be Musk and they promote cryptocurrency scams. There are Twitter accounts set up to look like Elon Musk. They tweet out that they are giving away free cryptocurrencies. However, the scam artists also say they need your account to know where to send the digital money.
A Twitter user asked Musk, “What’s with all the ETH spam?” “ETH” is referring to the cryptocurrency Ethereum. Musk tweeted back, “Not sure. I let Jack know, but it’s still going.” Musk was referring to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. The Tesla founder then offered up the information that he owns very little Bitcoin. “I literally own zero cryptocurrency, apart from .25 BTC that a friend sent me many years ago,” Musk said.
Not sure. I let @jack know, but it’s still going. I literally own zero cryptocurrency, apart from .25 BTC that a friend sent me many years ago.

At the time of publication, Bitcoin had a value of $9,811 according to CoinDesk, which would mean that Musk’s cryptocurrency portfolio is worth around $2,452. That’s basically nickels and dimes for Musk who has a net worth of approximately $21.5 billion. It’s so worthless to Musk that he doesn’t even know where the Bitcoin is. It must be amazing to not know or care where you have $2,500 just lying around.
Not true. A friend sent me part of a BTC a few years, but I don’t know where it is.
